ARCDRAKE TOOLS

How your data is handled

This notice applies to tools.arcdrake.com and its five browser tools. They work without an account and contain no advertising or analytics scripts. What happens to your data depends on the tool you choose.

Controller and contact

Michael Eigner-Dietl, operating as Arcdrake, is responsible for this website. Postal address: Lessingstraße 06, 8010 Graz, Austria. You can contact us about privacy or exercise your rights at contact@arcdrake.com.

Images and links

Redact This and Shrink This Image process images in your browser. Unpack This URL reads the link you enter without requesting its destination. These tools do not upload your input or save a history. Input stays in the memory of the open page; these three tools do not save it in browser storage. Clear your input or close the tab when you finish. Files you download remain on your device until you remove them.

Event plans and browser storage

Rehearsal processes plans in your browser. Only when you select “Save in this browser” does it save one event and its simulation settings in local browser storage. Saving again replaces that copy. It remains until you clear this website’s browser data or your browser removes it; there is no automatic expiry set by Rehearsal. Export a JSON backup if you need to keep it or move it to another device. Event plans are not uploaded to us.

The purpose of local image, link and event processing is to provide the function you request. To the extent this involves personal data, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing useful browser tools (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Rehearsal’s storage serves the saving function you explicitly select; it is not used to track you.

Language preference

Your language choice is stored as “de” or “en” under “arcdrake-tools-language” in local browser storage so the tools can follow your choice. An explicit “lang” value in a tool link takes priority. This preference serves your chosen language and is not used for tracking. Change it with the language switch or remove it by clearing this website’s browser data. If storage is blocked, language links still work.

Public DNS checks

When you request a DNS check, Mail DNS Check sends the requested domain names, including a DKIM selector if you supplied one, to Cloudflare’s DNS-over-HTTPS service at cloudflare-dns.com. Cloudflare receives the queries and network information, including your IP address, needed to answer them. An email address’s local part—the text before @—is not sent. Mailbox-help guidance does not make DNS queries. The purpose is to retrieve the public DNS records you ask to inspect; the legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing that requested check (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Mail DNS Check does not inspect your mailbox, send mail or save your check history. Cloudflare describes its separate resolver processing, retention, limited anonymized research sharing with APNIC and aggregated statistics in its public DNS resolver privacy information. These resolver rules are separate from website hosting logs.

Website hosting and security

Our hosting and security provider is Cloudflare. Opening this website requests its pages, images, fonts and scripts from the host. Cloudflare processes technical connection data, including your IP address, request time, requested URL, browser information and technical errors, to deliver the website and protect against abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and reliable website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Hosting and security data may be recorded in operational logs. Retention is governed by the period needed for service delivery, diagnosing faults, investigating and preventing abuse, and applicable legal obligations. Cloudflare explains its retention criteria in its Privacy Policy.

Cloudflare operates a global network, and processing outside the European Economic Area may occur. Its Data Processing Addendum describes processing on customers’ behalf, subprocessors and international transfer safeguards, including the EU standard contractual clauses for applicable restricted transfers. The Cloudflare Privacy Policy also explains its own processing.

Email enquiries

If you email us, we process your contact details, message and any attachments to respond. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contract-related enquiries, otherwise our legitimate interest in responding (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete correspondence when it is no longer needed, subject to statutory retention obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

We use Microsoft 365 to send, receive and store business email. Microsoft processes message content, attachments and technical communication data. Its Data Protection Addendum describes processing arrangements and international transfer safeguards.

Your rights

Subject to the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us at the address above to exercise these rights. Browser-only input and saved plans remain on your device; we cannot retrieve them for you.

You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, including the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
